plush slippers become everyone’s favorite, being soft and warm. However, after wearing them for a long time, the plush is prone to accumulate dirt. How should we clean them? Today, I will share some super practical methods for taking care of and cleaning them!

Daily Minor Cleaning

After taking off the shoes every day, gently brush the upper with a soft-bristled brush. Brush along the direction of the plush growth to sweep away surface dust and hair. If there are small stains, don’t panic! Dip a damp cloth in a mild detergent and gently wipe the stained area. Then, use a clean damp cloth to wipe away the detergent residue and let it dry in a well-ventilated place. Note that never expose it to direct sunlight, otherwise the plush will become hard and fade.

Tips for Deep Cleaning

When the slippers look obviously dirty, deep cleaning is necessary. Prepare a basin of warm water at about 30°C and add an appropriate amount of neutral laundry detergent, stirring well. Put the slippers in and soak for 15 – 20 minutes to allow the stains to dissolve fully. Gently scrub the upper and sole with a soft-bristled brush, especially the edges and sole patterns where dirt is likely to accumulate. Rinse several times with clean water after washing to ensure that the laundry detergent residue is thoroughly removed. After washing, don’t wring it out. Use a dry towel to absorb the excess water and then lay it flat to air dry in a well-ventilated place.

Handling Special Stains

If it gets stained with oil, sprinkle some baking soda on the stained area and let it sit for 5 – 10 minutes to allow the baking soda to absorb the oil. Then, dip a soft-bristled brush in some warm water and scrub. Repeat several times until the oil stain disappears. If it’s a bloodstain, don’t use hot water. Soak the part with the bloodstain in cold water, add a small amount of salt and lemon juice, and gently rub, and the bloodstain can be easily removed.
